Recently I’ve acquired a lot of headphones and headsets, all of which I use in different situations. Some I have for a limited time, some use on everyday basis. Today I’m going to tell you about one particular headset – the one I’ve grown to appreciate and use more than anything else. I’m talking about 1MORE Triple-Driver In-Ear Headphones (E1001).
1MORE Triple-Driver In-Ear Headphones (E1001)
What’s 1MORE, anyway, you might ask. I haven’t heard of them ether. They are a new company from China, which specializes in quality headphones in partnership with… Xiaomi! Yes, the “little rice” strikes again. They are, in fact, the main investor of 1MORE, which, in turn, can be called it’s subsidiary. 1MORE is created with the American market in mind, and their technology is widely used in most of Mi headphones, including well-known Piston, Capsule and Hybrid.
1MORE Triple-Driver In-Ear Headphones (E1001) is one of the most advanced models in the lineup – it was, in fact, created in partnership with the famous musician, sound engineer and producer Luka Bignardi, who helped to adjust the sound parameters of the headset. 1MORE (E1001) are considered Hi-Fi and created for listening to lossless Hi-Res Audio.

But first things first. Packaging is the first thing you see, and here it is gorgeous. A real masterpiece in terms of design. 1MORE’s box is made of sturdy grey cardboard with relief surface. With embossed inscriptions and metallic shiny pains, it looks dashing. Overall, the packaging looks like a book cover, closed by a magnetic lock with a metal lining. Very stylish – shameless, even.
The box is huge, meaning there are a lot of curiosities inside. Sure enough: inside we have the headphones in the special hollow. The cable is hidden in a compartment with a separate cover.
The beige “cover” inside is decorated with different sketches of design ideas and construction schematics of the headphones. There are some notes and one “formula of the ideal sound” It’s all very Leonardo Da Vinci-esque. We also get a note and a signature from Luka Bignardi, who was responsible for the sound parameters.
Under the second page there are also another four boxes.
In the first one is a quality made case from the black eco leather, sewn with red threads and staffed with a magnetic lock. Inside – a soft felt lining.
In another box – a metallic clip and a curious adapter for connection to a Hi-Fi amplifier. The adapter has separate outputs.
Next – an envelope box with a paper manual, an advertising booklet with the info about the assortment of 1MORE products and awards received by the company, as well as a bonus – branded label with a bear.
And finally – a flat box, inside of which there are 5 silicone and 3 foam rubber in-channel ear cups of different sizes in the foam holder – each in its own cell!
Maybe I am inexperienced, but I’ve never before encountered packaging this great. It’s all very thought-out and stylish – and I’ve tested more expensive headphones. Now you see why I dedicated so much to the trivial question of packaging. They cared and so do I.
Design and materials of 1MORE (E1001)
Let’s start from the beginning – or the end? 3,5 plug, gold-plated. The body of the contact group is made of metal with the effect of lathe turning. Where is cable is connected, there is a silicone sealant to prevent breakage of the wire.
The main cable to the splitter is coaxial, thick enough, protected by a strong cloth braid of Kevlar thread.
The case of the splitter is made just like the plug body – the same silicone sealant in the place of connection to the cable and the same gray metal with blue finish; it feels like it was grinded on a lathe.
Out of the splitter, there are two thin round cables in soft silicone insulation. The one that goes to the right earpiece is interrupted in the middle by the barrel-shaped plastic case of the control panel. It has three metal buttons on one side and a microphone opening on the other.
About the design – a thin cable enters the silicone seal; there are shiny metallic elements of pale gold color; a long steel tube perpendicularly embedded into the base of the headphone case. The next element is the main gray body, inside of which there are sound drivers. They are cone-shaped with the extension in the direction to the ear, and at an angle comes the fitting on which the ear cups are inserted.
In addition to previously mentioned 8 pieces of silicon tips there was another one on the headphones, and that’s the one I use, since it fits me perfectly.
Overall, the design, the materials, the build quality – everything is top notch. I can’t say anything bad about the quality. Only the control panel of made of plastic (probably for it not to be too heavy) – everything else is metal.
Personally, I don’t like the gold color and cloth braiding. The form is impractical – round cables tend to get tangled, and 1MORE E1001 is no different. Also, the thin cable of the right earpiece (with the panel) was originally crumpled for me – due to the peculiarity of the factory packaging, it was tightly twisted. After some time, the wire has been slightly straightened, but the bend is still noticeable. But all these shortcomings fade after you hear the sound, so let’s not talk about it.
1MORE E1001 Ergonomics
Nothing bad here, everything is comfy – you only have to choose the right tips. The earbuds sit tight in the ear canal and never fall off when you walk or bend. Sure, it’s not a headset for active sport, so don’t shake your head too much.
The headphones only slightly protrude (I insert them deep into the ear canal so the body bumps against the ear) which can be inconvenient in the winter, when we wear tight hats. But everyone is different, so I can’t say for sure.
The control panel has wide buttons and is convenient to use without looking. In addition, the borders of the buttons are quite distinguishable, and the middle button has obvious edges. The buttons can be easily pressed, with a tactile click. The microphone functions normally; no one said they couldn’t hear me. Also, the panel can be brought directly to the mouth if necessary – if you want to yell at your ex, for example.
Now to the most important part and the reason why I love this headset. 1MORE Triple-Driver In-Ear Headphones (E1001) sound sublime. Sure, we all have our preferences in both music and sound, but let me explain what makes this headset this impressive.
Firstly, the range of frequencies. As far as I understand, the richness of the frequency range is ensured by the simultaneous installation of membrane speakers and reinforced multidrivers in 1MORE E1001 body. There’s only 3 drivers in each ear (the fact we can see in the name of the headset). Membrane dynamics produce excellent bass, and reinforcement drivers perfectly reproduce and middle and high frequencies.
Secondly – a perfectly balanced sound. The bass never overpowers the high frequencies. Everything is balanced.
Thirdly – the detail of the sound, which allows you to feel any song and any track. At the same time, all instruments can be heard separately, they do not merge into cacophony.
Fourth, universality. Headphones are suitable for any type of music and any musical genre.
Similar sound comes from Xiaomi Mi 6, although it is a little worse. Still, even inferior Motorola Moto G5 Plus performs admirably.
1MORE Triple-Driver In-Ear Headphones (E1001) cost about $100. Whether it’s expensive or not depends on your budget. If you are looking for good in-ear headphones and can afford this model, I strongly recommend it.
Better try it before the buy. Bring your smartphone to the shop and try some familiar music. After testing 1MORE E1001 I wanted to try my whole collection – it completely revived my passion for music.
