AMD Instinct MI300X AI and HPC accelerator starts shipping

Aiming to take the edge against the competition in AI and HPC computing, the AMD Instinct MI300X started shipping to users. This new accelerator is the first of its kind that’ll be put to use by LaminiAI for use in its operations. These include running large language models for various enterprises that rely on LaminiAI services.

These accelerator machines are now shipping to LaminiAI as well as other firms that’ll put them to use. Already LaminiAI has got deliveries of some of the MI300X accelerator machines, as the company points out. For the supplies of the new AMD Instinct MI300X, LaminiAI has a major quote as their partnership with AMD is still warping stronger.

According to the CEO of LaminiAI, Sharon Zhou, “The first batch of AMD MI300X has been put into production, LaminiAI’s next batch of LLM clusters coming soon.” This accelerator system focuses on AI and HPC (high-performance computing), hence being an important tool to most AI firms. However, the MI300X is part of the AMD MI300 series but unlike the rest of the processor units in the series, this entry has a special focus on AI and HPC.

The AMD Instinct MI300X is more powerful than other entries in its series. It makes use of CDNA 3 computing units with 193GB worth of HBM3 high-speed memory technology. With this amount of memory and other performance features, the AMD Instinct MI300X outperforms the competition from the likes of NVIDIA.
