Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 prices & battery life leaked online

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will be unveiled on August 10, but leaks are already revealing some of the features of the next generation of Samsung smartwatches. This time they cover two of they key aspects of the smartwatch: battery life & pricing.

According to retail prices published by Dealntech, the standard Galaxy Watch 5 will be about $10 cheaper than the previous version of the smartwatch, while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is expected to be $30 more expensive than the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic

In his tweet, the well-known tipster Ice Universe says that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will be able to work for up to 3 days on a single charge. Considering that last year’s model struggled to last until the end of the day, this is a very significant improvement. And that should put the fifth revision of Galaxy Watch well ahead of most other Wear OS smartwatches on the market in terms of battery life.

How exactly such battery life will be achieved in the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro remains to be seen. For smartwatches with full-color displays and rich functionality, it is quite difficult to achieve a long working time on a single charge, because there is simply no room for a large battery in such devices. So it’s possible that the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro will use some kind of strict power saving mode to save power. Anyways, we will learn more about the battery life of the new Galaxy Watch in two weeks.
