One of the heavy rumored Motorola phones, that set to appear in Q3 is the Motorola Edge 2022. We know a lot about the upcoming phone. And its recent appearance on the GeekBench benchmark ads information about its performance and SoC.
As you can see, the future Motorola Edge 2022 will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1050 chip. The latter was officially introduced recently. It is a mid-range SoC that uses 6 nm technology from TSMC and has eight computing cores. Among them are 2× high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and 6×Cortex-A55 cores. The SoC also has an integrated Mali-G610 MC3 video accelerator.
In addition to the aforementioned SoC, the Motorola Edge 2022 will also feature a 6.5-inch POLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate. The phone will have 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB/256 GB of storage, a 5000 mAh battery and an Android 12 out of the box.
Before that, we’ve heard that the Motorola Edge 2022 will be equipped with a main 50-megapixel camera (with OIS), 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the other hand, the phone will have a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Interestingly, this phone will also support the stylus. That’s all we know right now about the Motorola Edge 2022. And judging by the features listed above, we’re dealing with a classic mid-range smartphone.
Recently, informant Steve Hemmerstoffer published renderings of Moto Edge 2022 (code name Dubai+). They show that the Motorola Moto Edge 2022 has a slightly curved design, which should provide a good grip. There is also a Motorola logo in the middle of the rear panel and the oval-shaped rear camera module, with the LED flash located in the upper right corner.
Bottom side should have a USB Type-C interface. The power button and the volume button are located on the right side. The front panel graces us with a punch-hole screen. As you may have guessed, there will be a selfie camera in the cutout. The overall dimensions are about 160.8×74.2×8.2 mm (rear camera module is 10.1 mm thick).
