Xiaomi Introduces Redmi Note 12 Series in China

Recently, Xiaomi officially introduced new devices in the popular Redmi Note series. The all-new Redmi Note 12 series includes four phones – the Note 12, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro Plus, and Note 12 Pro Explorer Edition. All four devices in the series offer impressive hardware at attractive prices.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Explorer Edition is the most premium device in the series, and it offers some unique innovations. It is one of the first devices on the market to feature a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 210W wired fast charging. You can charge its 4300mAh battery from 0-100% in just 9 minutes.

The phone is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 5G chipset paired with 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. It features a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 900 nits peak brightness. The main 200-megapixel Samsung HPX camera has an aperture of f/1.65, a 7P lens, ALD coating, and OIS. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, NFC, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the software side, the device runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box.

Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus

The usual Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus is an almost identical twin to the Explorer Edition, except for the battery capacity and fast charging capabilities. The regular model is equipped with a larger 5000 mAh battery and supports 120 W wired fast charging. The rest of the hardware specifications are similar.

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is another small step down from the Pro Plus variant. It has the same display, chip, and battery capacity, but its camera setup and fast charging capabilities aren’t as impressive. The device packs a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary camera instead of Samsung’s 200-megapixel HPX sensor, and it only supports 67W wired fast charging. The rest of the camera hardware remained unchanged.

Redmi Note 12 Pro

Redmi Note 12 is the cheapest device in the series and has quite a few differences compared to the other three models. Although it features the same 6.67-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate as the other three models, it has received a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, a 48MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, an 8MP selfie camera, along with modest 33W wired fast charging.

At the same time, the phone retained a 5000 mAh battery, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, IP53 splash protection, as well as a fingerprint scanner located on the side edge. The device also runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box.
