Russian invaders burned down the local history museum in the village of Ivankov, which kept the unique works of the famous Ukrainian folk artist Maria Primachenko, director of the Vyshgorod Historical and Cultural Reserve Vlada Litovchenko said.
Maria Prymachenko (1908–1997) was a Ukrainian village folk art painter, representative of naïve art. The artist was involved with drawing, embroidery and painting on ceramics. Pablo Picasso once said after visiting a Prymachenko exhibition in Paris, “I bow down before the artistic miracle of this brilliant Ukrainian.”
“Another irreparable loss of the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine. The museum had a large number of interesting exhibits and thematic expositions, and especiialy we valued the works of the outstanding Ukrainian artist Maria Primachenko.”
