The folks at WABetaInfo are noticing the presence of the new WhatsApp similar channel feature. This feature is becoming available for Android devices after the latest update to the app via the Google Play Store. With this new feature, users will be able to get recommendations on which channels to follow, considering the content present on the channels they already follow.
In a recent report via their official website, the folks at WABetaInfo shared information on this new feature that is currently rolling out. The recommendations that this new feature gives display other channels with similar content. These recommendations can be found on the info page of channels, just under the ‘Mute notifications’ setting option.
From the recommendation list that WhatsApp will provide, users can follow other channels that offer similar content as the one from which they got the recommendation. For example, if you follow a WhatsApp channel that shares cat content, the WhatsApp similar content feature will recommend other channels that share cat-related content. You can now scroll through the recommendations and choose which option you will follow.
This is an easy way to discover new channels that share content that users have an interest in. All recommendations via this feature will share similar content with the original channel where the user gets the recommendations. Android users will soon be able to access this feature as the update bringing it is currently rolling out to users globally.
