Xiaomi 12 Extreme Edition
Xiaomi continues to expand its latest smartphone lineup. According to the source, the Chinese group is preparing to release Xiaomi 12 Pro Max with an ultra-large screen.
In late December last year, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 12, a new premium smartphone. Building on the commercial and critical success of its flagship, the Chinese brand has also introduced a number of its modifications, namely: Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12X.
According to the sources, Xiaomi is preparing a premium version of its flagship – Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Like the last year, camera will be the main feature of the device. It is rumored to be equipped with a new 50-megapixel main sensor from Sony and to be the first Xiaomi smartphone to be co-developed with Leica.
But it won’t be the last Xiaomi 12 smartphone in the high-end segment, and another smartphone under the Xiaomi 12 brand is expected in the coming months. According to information provided by a well known Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station in Sina Weibo, the brand is going to release a Max version of Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The insider discovered a new code name and model number while searching through the database of Chinese certification body. Judging by the given name, we can expect that the smartphone will be very similar to the existing Xiaomi 12 Pro. The name Max implies that the smartphone will benefit from a larger screen. For reference, the 12 Pro already has a 6.73-inch screen, so the new smartphone will further blur the line between smartphones and tablets.
It is possible that the brand will make other changes to the specs, in particular, the camera or battery size. The 12 Pro has a triple 50 MP camera and a 4600 mAh battery. According to the source, Xiaomi will release a smartphone in the second half of 2022 on the Chinese market.
A separate piece of news is that Xiaomi has recently launched mass production of the Xiaomi Band 7. We are expecting larger 1.56-inch AMOLED screen with a 490×192 resolution and a built-in GPS receiver.
Apart from that, also expected: a 250 mAh battery; two versions: with and without NFC; Always-On Display and Zepp OS.
Another piece of Hardware that Xiaomi may introduce soon is rumoured to be a new smartwatch, but sources have not provide any information on this product.
