HTC unveiled a new version of the VIVE XR Elite headset at #MWC2024

HTC has released a new version of its augmented reality headset designed to make the office a much more interesting place to work. Unveiled at MWC 2024, the VIVE XR Elite Business Edition headset looks set to compete with Apple’s Vision Pro.

HTC sees the headset being used in various fields such as medicine, manufacturing, finance and others. It also includes VIVE Business+, which allows you to control and deploy content to multiple headsets. Other features include a suite of accessories designed for enterprise use “to support even more versatile usage scenarios and improve comfort for longer sessions or multiple users.”

There is also support for Location Based Software Suite (LBSS). According to the company, this solution was part of the creation of the first functional VR system in microgravity conditions, and the simulator mode of the headset was adapted for use on the ISS to promote the improvement of the physical and mental health of astronauts. LBSS also means HTC headsets can be used in museums, galleries and educational scenarios. The device also received a new face pad, which allows you to use the headset in such locations where there are many users.

There is also a new headband that improves comfort and allows you to switch between headphones faster. The temple brackets have safety clips to prevent accidental removal of the battery bracket. In addition, HTC has prepared a cost-effective offer for companies that want to order a wholesale batch of VIVE XR Elite Business Edition headsets.

VIVERSE has also received some upgrades, especially in the area of artificial intelligence. These include the introduction of a personal assistant that will guide users and have voice controls such as voice translation and real-time language translation. Also added is support for VIVE Ultimate Tracker, which will make virtual avatars more realistic. Avatars can also be created using the VIVERSE Avatar SDK, which uses AI to reproduce speech and facial expressions.
