August promises to be a busy month for smartphone fans, just like July. After months of rumors and anticipation, Motorola is finally unveiling the Moto Edge X30 Pro. It’s the long-rumored 200-megapixel camera smartphone, and the company’s first with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. As it was speculated before, the world’s first smartphone with 200 MP camera will be officially unveiled on August 3. Interestingly, the company confirmed the debut of Moto RAZR 2022 on the same date.
The event will take place in China and the company may need about a month to bring the Moto Edge X30 Pro to a global audience. It is currently unclear whether the Moto RAZR2022 will leave China. It is possible that the global release of a new foldable will be delayed. In any case, we may still be looking at its debut in global markets.
Moto RAZR 2022 significantly surpasses its predecessors. It is rumored to ditch the mid-range processor in favor of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. However, battery life might be disappointing, with a 2,800 mAh battery. Let’s see if Motorola can tweak the processor and software to offer decent experience with such limited power. Anyway, the device has a 6.7-inch internal screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a Full HD+ resolution, as well as a 3-inch external screen. There is also a 50 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultrawide camera, as well as a 32 MP selfie camera.
The Motorola Edge X30 Pro alongside a 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 camera will also have a 50 MP ultrawide shooter and a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Powerful SoC will be paired with 6.67-inch 144Hz curved P-OLED screen. There is up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. In addition, the Moto Edge X30 Pro will be equipped with a 60 MP selfie camera. Battery promises to be better than in the RAZR with 4500 mAh.
Chen Jin, general manager of Lenovo’s mobile phone division in China, also confirmed that the upcoming Moto X30 Pro will feature 125W SuperFast charging technology. A few months ago, Gene shared an image of a 125W fast charger on social media. At the time, it was unclear for which device Motorola would use such a powerful charger. Jin later confirmed that it was for the Moto X30 Pro. It is also expected that the phone will support 50W wireless charging.
