A few days ago, Twitter user @5sv7 unearthed the ability to record conversations on Samsung Galaxy smartphones. An extremely interesting discovery, since previously there was no way to add such functionality to devices from the brand.
“This is the new feature of Galaxy S20+. I don’t remember if it was there before, but I think I would have noticed. I found built-in recording of conversations. On the official Ukrainian firmware! It works perfectly, there is an automatic and manual option.”
As Root Nation found out, the new feature has officially appeared for Ukrainian users on some models of Samsung smartphones with the latest firmware. Voice recording is already available on Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy M31s and others. Samsung promises that older models (almost all smartphones from 2019 and later) will get the function at a later date, with the release of future OS updates.
Interestingly, users from most other countries still don’t have this ability. Currently there’s no way to find out whether this feature will be available in other regions.
