Kia EV sales in Q2 2024 are very impressive regardless of dwindling sales

-

The global Kia EV sale in Q2 2024 is here and the reports indicate they are very impressive. For some reason, the brand’s EV sales far outperform the sales of Kia’s petrol vehicles globally. In June, Kia’s 2024 sales were down by almost 4%, but the brand’s EV segment is seeing over approximately 49% sale increase from last year.

While the Kia EV sector is just a fraction of the brand’s entire product line-up, it’s impressive to see such growth. With over 54,150 EVs in sale in Q2 2024, Kia is reaching new heights as they envision an all-electric line-up shortly. In June alone, Kia recorded a sale of 17,603 EVs, which sums up 7% of the brand’s entire vehicle sales in Q2 2024.

Kia EV sales for the first six months of the year have far outperformed that of sales within the same period last year. Kia currently has over 6 EVs that retail globally, and these seem to be attracting more buyers to the brand. The Kia EV3, EV5, EV6, EV9, Niro EV, Niro Plus EV, and Soul EV are the models driving the Korean brand’s EV sales.

While collectively, Kia EV sales are on the rise, some models within the EV line-up are struggling with wholesale shipments. The like of Kia EV6 saw a 62% wholesale sales decline last month. Analysts point out that the coming EV6 upgrade will improve the wholesale shipment of the model.

With the growth in the Kia EV business, we might see the brand push for the launch of more models. Kia might also move to introduce its EV models in other markets where its fuel-driven models already exist. Reports such as this prove that the future of mobility is electric, as more people buy electric vehicles in place of fuel-driven options.
