If you’ve been looking to purchase a new Porsche Macan but are looking for something more affordable or more powerful, the new entries are for you. Yes, Porsche has added two new entries into the Macan line-up for buyers who want something more affordable and those who are looking for more power of the line. A few hours ago, the announcement of a new rear-wheel drive Macan and a more powerful Macan 4S shook the internet.
The Macan line-up from the performance luxury German automobile brand went all electric back in January 2024. At the launch of this electrified Porsche model, the brand offered buyers two entries to pick from when shopping. These models were the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo, but now the line-up is welcoming the Macan 4S and the Macan (rear-wheel-drive base model).
Replacing the Macan Turbo as the new base model, the rear-wheel drive model comes with the same 100kWh battery but produces 250kW (335hp) from its rear-mounted motor. This amount of power takes it from 0-97km/h in just 5.4 seconds, and at this rate, this new model can hit a top speed of 219km/h. Porsche is retailing this new model at a starting price of $75,300 making it the most affordable entry into the line-up.
The more powerful Macan 4S is an all-wheel drive model, it brings a 100kWh battery and makes up to 380kW (509hp) from its two motors. Unlike the slower rear-wheel drive model, this entry reaches 97km from rest in just 3.9 seconds. It also hits a top speed of 240km/h making it great for buyers with the ‘zoomies’ that are willing to pay $84,900 for a car.
In addition to bringing the new models to the Macan line-up, Porsche is also adding an off-road design, a new colour and a new 20-inch wheel size. This upgrade to the Porsche Macan line-up is making the electric SUV more competitive in its space. Soon, these two new entries will hit dealerships around the world, making them more accessible to buyers.
