Škoda’s flagship model is now presented in a new generation: the all-new Superb has again increased in size and has an updated appearance and a wide range of new technologies. With a choice of six modern transmission options and improved aerodynamics, it’s more efficient than ever. The engine ranges from 110 kW (150 hp) to 195 kW (265 hp) and includes a plug-in hybrid with a range of up to 120 kilometres and a 1.5 TSI with mild hybrid technology, a first for the Superb. With the new generation, the elegant hatchback will offer both types of hybrid technology, just like the practical Combi station wagon. The updated interior features even more environmentally friendly materials and a particularly intuitive control concept that includes Škoda Smart Dials and ChatGPT.

Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, says: “Our customers are our priority, and we listen carefully to their wishes when developing the next generation of our flagship model. The result is a product that provides greater value in terms of features, user experience and comfort. The all-new Superb not only provides additional space but also introduces new electrified engines.”

The new Superb features a distinctive octagonal grille and crisply patterned LED matrix headlights that deliver even more light than their predecessors and feature a new Crystallinium design element. LED matrix headlights are available for the first time on the Superb. Optional LED tail lights with animated indicators have a “Coming/Leaving Home” function (standard on L&K). Other visual elements include exterior details in unique dark chrome, such as the logo on the hood and lettering on the tailgate. The elegant hatchback has a drag coefficient of cd 0.23, one of the best in the volume segment, while the Superb Combi wagon is Škoda’s most aerodynamic wagon with a cd of 0.25. Compared to its predecessor, the drag coefficient has been reduced by 15 percent for both body styles.

The Superb’s interior has a separate infotainment display of up to 13 inches and a spacious centre console, as the selector lever has moved to the steering column. A projection display is available as an option for the first time. Škoda Smart Dials and the Laura voice assistant will soon be complemented by ChatGPT and will be able to simplify the operation of numerous car functions and infotainment functions, as well as provide information that goes beyond the car’s ecosystem. New features include a ventilated Phone Box for inductive 15-watt fast smartphone charging, as well as back-friendly Ergo seats with ten pneumatic massage cushions. The new assortment structure with Design Selections offers themed and customized option packages. The trunk volume of the hatchback has increased by 20 litres compared to its predecessor, and the new Superb Combi station wagon can hold up to 690 litres.

The six modern, efficient power units also include a new generation hybrid, which is currently only available in the Superb Combi iV. This will also be available for the hatchback at a later date. The 1.5 TSI engine is combined with an electric motor and provides a system output of 150 kW (204 hp), offering an electric range of up to 120 kilometres in the WLTP cycle. In addition, the 1.5 TSI is also available with mild hybrid technology – a first for the Superb. In addition, two other gasoline engines and two diesel engines are offered. Their respective top variants (195 kW/265 hp and 142 kW/193 hp) are equipped with all-wheel drive as standard. The new Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC Plus), available for the first time on the Superb, combines comfort and driving dynamics.

The new Superb is produced at the Volkswagen Group plant in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The move is part of the Beta+ project aimed at strengthening synergies in the production network and further improving the efficiency of the Brand Group core. The fourth-generation Superb aims to build on the success of its predecessors. Škoda offered the first modern generation of the model in 2001. In the third modern generation, the wagon body gained popularity. The third-generation Superb’s largest markets in 2015 – 04/2023 were Turkey, the Czech Republic and Poland. Since 2001, more than 1,600,000 Superb models have been delivered to customers.

Superb is in great demand among Ukrainian drivers in its class – the car is in the TOP-3 rating. The first deliveries of the new Škoda Superb to the Ukrainian market are expected as early as September 2024.
