Toyota and Huawei entered a strategic partnership for smart driving system development

-

Toyota and Huawei are now working together to bring smart driving systems to the South Korean giant’s vehicles. Also working on this project will be Momenta, an autonomous driving company based in China. The system that this partnership will bring will be in use on future Toyota cars as they head into their autonomous driving era.

Huawei and Monenta will work together on the autonomous driving system that Toyota vehicles need. Huawei will focus on the development of the hardware part of things, and Monenta will focus on the software side of things. With these two firms bringing their prowess to this project, we can rest assured knowing that coming Toyota vehicles will get impressive smart driving capabilities.

To help blend this coming smart driving system into the Toyota community, the automobile giant will touch up the user experience. With this technology that is currently in the development pipeline, Toyota heads for fully autonomous vehicles. However, this will take some time to achieve with the Toyota and Huawei partnership being a major stepping stone to achieve this goal. Because the competition is very stiff at the moment, Toyota needs this partnership to step up its game.

While this isn’t the first time that Toyota and Huawei are working together, it hopes to be a remarkable one. Toyota has previously worked with Huawei to bring smart cockpits and interconnectivity to vehicles. This partnership, which also encompasses Momenta, is crucial for Toyota as it goes up against the competition from various regions like China.
