Xpeng G6 hit the Goodwood Festival of Speed in style as it awaits UK launch

-

To mark its planned entry into the UK market, the Xpeng G6 made its official debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. A few weeks ago, this electric SUV hit the French automobile market as part of Xpeng’s global expansion initiative. Now the Chinese EV brand is looking to step into the UK market and is raising awareness of its presence by showing off in style at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

While this vehicle hit the launch stage last year, its styling hasn’t aged a bit. With its sloping roofline, light bar headlight and tail light design, this SUV is sure to turn heads as it drives along the narrow city roads of the UK. Most definitely, the Xpeng G6 caught a lot of eye at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, as lots of people stepped into the Xpeng stand to have a look at this SUV in all its glory.

While the G6 is produced as a left-hand drive vehicle, as it steps into the UK it’ll adopt the right-hand drive style. This will help it to deal with the UK’s left-hand drive roads, but this won’t be the only change that the G6 will get as it comes into the UK automobile market. In the UK, the Xpeng G6 model will be a ‘lonely Londoner’ as its siblings the G9 and the P7 will not launch alongside it.

These larger SUV and saloon models might make their entries into the UK automobile market later. But as for the G6, it will see some pricing changes, making it a bit more expensive than in other regions where it retails. This pricing change will help Xpeng to deal with import taxes, certification and logistics.

Xpeng also has plans to retail this car using UK dealers instead of directly from the company to buyers. This will help the Xpeng G6 to be more accessible to buyers within the region. If you live in the UK and wish to learn more about this vehicle before it arrives in your region, we’ll cover the entire specifications of the Xpeng G6 in a separate article.
