The French automobile market welcomes two new vehicles, the Xpeng G9 and G6 electric SUVs. These new vehicles are part of Xpeng’s plan to grow its global presence and compete with more brands on a wider scale. Xpeng calls this move their “V 2.0” global strategy, and it’ll expand to other regions that aren’t yet familiar with Xpeng’s line-up of products.
The Xpeng G9 entry is moving to compete with other larger EV SUVs from the likes of popular brands in the French market. This is unlike the Xpeng G6 entry that has a clear competitor, the Tesla Model Y. Both EVs from the Chinese auto manufacturer pack a ton of features and specifications that will make them a solid choice for individuals shopping in the French EV market.
Coming to the larger Xpeng G9, this electric SUV comes with either a 78.2kWh or 98kWh battery pack. Those that get the smaller option will have to settle for 230kW power which is equivalent to 312hp, and it covers 460km on a full charge. Picking the larger 98kWh battery pack bumps up performance to 405kW or 550hp, and they get a 570km range on a full charge.
The G9 comes in a Standard Range, Long Range, and Performance line-up, with the last packing two motors and an all-wheel drive system. As for the Xpeng G6, it also comes with a similar line-up and offers two battery packs (66kWh and 87.5kWh). The performance version of this vehicle offers 470hp, which is much more powerful than the other two entries in the line-up.
Buyers in the French market will be able to purchase the top-spec Xpeng G9 for €73,990 (but it starts at €59,990 for the base model). Pricing for the Xpeng G6 in France is not yet clear, but it will be within the sub-€60,000 price point for the top-spec model. Xpeng might also move to introduce more electric vehicles into the country within the year, depending on the sales performance of these two entries.
