Positioning and price
The predecessor to our device was the “flagship killer” realme GT 6, which stood out for its solid technical specifications: a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen3 processor, a triple camera setup, and a 5500 mAh battery.
In reality, it’s important to understand that the manufacturer couldn’t have created a completely unique device with entirely new features in such a short time (since June). As the saying goes, “the devil is in the details.” Upon closer inspection of the realme GT 7 Pro, it becomes apparent that the smartphone includes several improvements, which I will go over in more detail.
I wrote this review before the official presentation, when the price was unknown. Therefore, I will only reveal the approximate cost of GT 7 Pro, focusing on the European market:
- For the 12/256 GB version, you will need to pay about $610
- For the 16/512 GB version you will have to pay about $730
As for the colors, I received the gray version for review. There are also orange and white versions available.
Package contents
The package includes all the necessary items. There is documentation, a SIM tray ejector pin, a charging cable, a 120W power adapter, and even a black matte case to protect the back panel from scratches and dirt. It’s also worth mentioning that a screen protector is already applied, which is a nice addition to the package.
realme GT 7 Pro design
Let’s start by looking at the color options. There are three colors to choose from: white, gray, and orange. Each one has its appeal. For example, the gray-white “back panel” will likely appeal to those who prefer classic design choices. On the other hand, the orange version is sure to stand out and grab attention, making the phone easily recognizable in a crowd.
Let’s take a look at the placement of the components. On the right side, you’ll find the standard power button and volume rocker. The left side is empty. At the top and bottom of the device, there are stereo speakers, and next to the charging port, you’ll find the SIM card tray. The body, including the frames, is made of plastic, though they do a good job of mimicking metal.
The neatly integrated selfie camera is a pleasant touch. Here, we don’t have outdated notches or cutouts. The display has a slightly curved edge, with no sharp bends, and it occupies almost the entire front panel—about 89%. Additionally, the bezels are narrow, with no “chin” at the bottom.
What surprised me was how high the fingerprint scanner is positioned. The sensor is integrated into the display and placed much higher than usual, not on the lower bezel. At first, I thought this was an odd decision, but I soon realized it’s actually quite convenient.
The design of the back panel is minimalist—a smooth, gray surface that feels nice to the touch and looks sleek. Additionally, it doesn’t show fingerprints easily. However, the back is quite slippery, which raised concerns about the phone’s safety. On the left side, there’s a dual island housing the flashlight and the camera.
Both the back panel and display have rounded edges, giving the phone a slim appearance and making it feel comfortable in the hand. Overall, it’s not overly large, and the ergonomics are excellent.
The phone has a standard size and a relatively light weight of just 222g. Why do I mention this? Because compared to the rugged devices I’ve tested recently, the realme GT 7 Pro feels as light as a feather.
The build quality is excellent, and the device also offers several protection standards—IP68 and IP69.

realme GT 7 Pro screen
The new device features a 6.78-inch Samsung Eco² OLED Plus display with a 1.5K resolution (2780×1264 pixels) and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display offers a typical brightness of up to 2000 nits and a peak brightness of 6000 nits, supporting HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technologies.
This is a waterfall display with good viewing angles and excellent readability, even on a sunny day. The image on the screen is very smooth and sharp, with no noticeable graininess or fading.
The contrast and color depth are well-balanced, accurately rendering image details. Thanks to the 2160Hz PWM, which reduces flickering, the display is safe to use in low-light conditions.
The peak refresh rate is 120Hz, with an option for 60Hz and an adaptive display setting.
In the settings, you can customize the screen’s appearance—choose full-screen mode for apps, adjust wallpapers, enhance image sharpness, and tweak video color settings. If you want to play with the color gamut, you can change the display modes: Bright, Pro, Custom, and Natural. There’s also eye protection, a dark mode, pop-up window mode, and various panel layouts available.
Performance
At the heart of the realme GT 7 Pro is the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 3 processor, which features eight fast cores: two top-tier Prime cores (Oryon) clocked up to 4.32 GHz, and six Performance cores running at 3.53 GHz.
Press releases often highlight the processor as the standout feature that encourages customers to purchase the new realme. On one hand, this is true, as the processor provides improved performance for gaming and basic tasks. On the other hand, the processor is supported by a powerful battery, an Adreno 830 GPU, fast charging, reliable components, and ample memory, all of which contribute to the overall performance.
As is known, the manufacturer has worked on the smartphone’s thermal management to make gaming and everyday use more enjoyable for potential buyers. The realme GT 7 Pro is equipped with an advanced cooling system featuring a dual VC (Vapor Chamber) cooling setup with an area of 11,480 mm². This system efficiently dissipates the heat generated by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
Yes, the phone remains slightly warm during extended gaming sessions, and this does not hinder its usability. However, when I ran tests that involved rendering advanced graphics during gameplay, I was unpleasantly surprised. The realme GT 7 Pro became intensely hot. The upside was that the temperature quickly returned to a normal, acceptable range.
That said, I can’t complain about performance—everything ran fast and smoothly. The GT mode further heats up the phone and increases RAM usage, but it also provides a performance boost in games.
The realme GT 7 Pro comes in several memory variants: 12/256, 16/256, 12/512, 16/512 GB, and 16 GB/1 TB. It is currently unknown which configurations will be available in Ukraine. The memory modules are very fast—LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Additionally, in the settings, there is an option to expand the RAM by using internal storage, adding between 4 to 12 extra GB.

Cameras
The photographic possibilities are as follows:
- Main module: 50 megapixels
- Ultra-wide-angle: 8 megapixels
- Telephoto lens: Sony IMX882, 50 megapixel
- Front camera: 16 megapixels
I read that some users were disappointed with the camera quality and expected more. Why did this happen, and is it really as bad as it seems?
I believe this “criticism” is a subjective opinion of each individual. Let’s take a look at photos from the different modules and discuss each one in detail.
The selfies turn out decent, with features like skin tone enhancement and more. I have no complaints in this regard.
The main camera performs well in proper conditions—photos look good, with flagship-worthy quality. There is ample sharpness, detail, and natural color reproduction.
Among other features, realme continues to offer a street photography mode, now called Street Mode 4.0 in the latest models. This mode allows you to use zoom and enhanced stabilization for capturing dynamic action shots.
The telephoto lens has improved with a focus distance range of 65 mm to 73 mm. Combined with AI, the image quality remains good even at 6x zoom.
The ultra-wide camera takes decent quality shots in good lighting conditions. However, there is sometimes noticeable blurring at the edges of the frame.
I’m in love with the night shots: just look at how clearly and beautifully every detail is captured – even multiple light sources didn’t pose a problem for the module.
Both the main camera and the telephoto lens are capable of recording 4K video, with the exception of the ultrawide and front modules. Switching between the two cameras happens smoothly, which enhances the overall filming experience.
Data transfer
The realme GT 7 Pro offers all the usual connectivity features, supporting 5G, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, Dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.4, and a wide range of navigation systems. Specifically, it includes GPS with L1+L5 support, Galileo, Beidou, and QZSS.
Sound and haptics
The sound is produced by two stereo speakers — one at the top and the other at the bottom, near the charging port. This duo provides well-balanced and loud audio. Personally, I found it satisfactory, with all frequencies, including the bass, sounding good.
In the settings, you can choose the “Clear Voice” mode, which filters out background noise during calls. Here, you’ll also find various audio effect settings, holographic sound, and the option to customize O-Haptics.

Unlocking methods
All unlocking methods work correctly (PIN code, “Face ID”). However, I’d like to talk about the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Firstly, it is positioned higher than usual. Secondly, thanks to the new technology, unlocking has become faster and more accurate, with fewer false touches.
A cool addition turned out to be the backlighting of the unlock zone, which appears when you pick up the phone and look at the screen.
Software with AI features
realme GT 7 Pro runs on Android 15 with the latest version of the UI 6.0 skin. Interaction with the interface was fast and trouble-free. And if someone just wants to use the phone without delving into AI features, they can certainly do so. However, let’s explore how we can make life easier and add variety to everyday smartphone usage.
A useful new feature in the realme interface is the File Dock option. It allows users to drag and drop images, videos, and documents into a dedicated area on the screen for quick transfer to other apps. This is a convenient and efficient solution for organizing files and streamlining multitasking.
Another feature is the AI Smart Loop, which allows you to select a file or text and place it in the Smart Loop area. After that, the system will suggest apps where this item can be used, such as in browsers, messaging apps, maps, or social networks. This function helps streamline the process of sharing content across different platforms.
With the help of artificial intelligence, unnecessary objects can be removed from images. The user can highlight the element to be deleted, and the system will automatically fill in the remaining space. Sometimes, this feature works in an interesting way, “coloring” the cut-out area and creatively altering the frame. However, at times, the photos with removed sections may look a bit strange or unnatural.
In addition to the core features, the realme GT also comes with pre-installed software such as AliExpress, TikTok, Netflix, Amazon, and Facebook.

Battery life
Another reason to consider the realme GT 7 Pro as your next device is its large battery and decent battery life. The smartphone is equipped with a 6500 mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging.
The phone lasted for 1.5 days on a single charge, and then I left it to charge for 40 minutes (which is the time it takes to go from 5% to 100%). If you use resource-intensive apps or work with photo editing, the battery life will be slightly shorter. However, as an average user, you shouldn’t be disappointed with the performance.
In the battery settings, you can activate the GT mode. This mode significantly boosts performance but also increases power consumption.
Conclusions
What can I say after testing the new realme GT7 Pro? First of all, the smartphone offers solid hardware, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 3 processor and a high-quality AMOLED display. Its strengths also include a good design, a large battery capacity, and fast charging.
However, there are some compromises (as is often the case, since every phone has its nuances). On one hand, the slippery plastic back makes it harder to use the phone securely, and on the other, the presence of impressive software and cameras that don’t meet user expectations can be disappointing. That said, if we look at it objectively, the realme GT7 Pro has more positives, and using it was easy and comfortable. I believe the device is worth considering, and I would recommend it!
