Motorola introduced a new line of the Edge family: Edge 50 ultra, Edge 50 pro and Edge 50 fusion – the world’s first smartphones with a Pantone-certified camera and display. The series is created using pleasant textures and special materials, such as real wood, a special pearlescent polymer coating or vegan suede. New smartphones support Moto AI technology, which improves user interaction with the device.
In the new Edge family, the image quality has been significantly improved, the most advanced motion capture solutions have been implemented, and low-light shooting has been improved. Soon, users will have access to AI-powered editing tools through Google Photos, including Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and more.
Motorola Edge 50 ultra: a combination of style and intelligence
The flagship has a 6.67-inch Super HD (1220p) pOLED display, a thin aluminium frame, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and IP68 protection. On the back is a 50MP main lens, a 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 100x super zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens with macro photography. The main lens combines the pixels into a larger 2.4μm ultra pixel to absorb 20% more light. A 50 MP selfie camera with autofocus is installed on the front.
The smartphone uses AI to adjust the optimal detail, sharpness, shadows or bokeh. New features include:
- Adaptive Stabilization: Uses AI to detect movement speed while shooting and adjusts the level of stabilization
- AF Tracking: Delivers sharp and clear video using AI to keep your subject in focus
- Action Shot: Automatically increases and adjusts shutter speed based on different lighting conditions
- Long exposure: will help in creating artistic light trails.
The smartphone also allows you to create personalized wallpaper images with Moto AI. With Style Sync, users can upload an image of their outfit pattern and create several unique options or describe the image they want with a text prompt. Edge 50 Ultra also boasts support for Dolby Atmos.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is equipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 mobile platform, 16 GB of RAM and RAM Boost technology, as well as 1 TB of flash memory. The smartphone uses the Ultra Wideband (UWB) radio protocol, as well as a 4500mAh battery with support for 125W TurboPower fast charging and 50W wireless charging. There is also support for reverse charging.
Motorola Edge 50 pro: a combination of intelligence and art
This smartphone is equipped with a near-frameless 6.7-inch pOLED 144Hz display with Super HD resolution and HDR10+ certification and supports Dolby Atmos. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and is equipped with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of flash memory. The smartphone also supports 125W TurboPower fast charging and 50W TurboPower wireless charging. Added to this is IP68 protection.
The Edge 50 pro model has a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.4 aperture that lets in 64% more light. It is complemented by a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto camera with OIS and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with Macro Vision support. The Edge 50 pro also features a 50MP front-facing camera with autofocus. The Edge 50 pro’s camera system includes key Moto AI features, including a new photo enhancement engine, adaptive stabilization, autofocus tracking, long exposure mode, and style sync.
Edge 50 Fusion: a balanced mobile experience
The smartphone has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ pOLED display with 10-bit colour depth, support for more than a billion shades and a refresh rate of 144Hz. The device is equipped with stereo speakers and supports Dolby Atmos. Thanks to IP68 protection and Corning Gorilla Glass 5, it is protected from dust and water.
The camera system includes a 50 MP Ultra Pixel main camera with a LYTIA LYT-700C sensor that supports OIS. Advanced all-pixel focusing technology improves night photography with faster and more accurate 32x focus pixels. It also has a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 32-megapixel front camera with Quad Pixel technology.
