The Apple Chinese market is suffering loss as it records a 30% year-on-year sales decline. This is although in Q3 2023 Apple launched the new iPhone 15 series which has recorded massive sales in other regions. However, this series has not been getting the love it hopes for from locals as they are opting for other flagship devices in place of Apple devices.
Well, some Apple fans might hope that the sales troubles that Apple seems to be facing in China will go away this year. Information from some analysts will dub these hopes as wishful thinking, as they forecast that sales this year won’t be any better. This means that Apple’s sales in China are going on a downward spiral because in 2022 that brand also struggled in terms of sales.
But you might wonder what the problem is and why the Apple Chinese market is struggling. A lot of experts link Apple’s sales predicaments in China to the return of Huawei to the smartphone business. Yes, the sale of the new Huawei Mate 60 series far outperforms that of the iPhone 15 series in the Chinese market.
Also, it’s good to note that these flagship series launched within the same period in China. The Huawei Mate 60 series launched on August 30, 2024, in China, while the iPhone 15 series launched a few weeks later, on September 22. After the iPhone 15 series launched and became available for purchase in the region, it struggled to gain acceptance as many went for the Mate 60 series instead.
This year we’re expecting the launch of the iPhone 16 series as well as the Huawei P70 series. Will this come Huawei series overshadow the coming iPhone series in the region, or will other Apple launches help boost sales? We have to wait to get the answer to this question and see if the analysis of Apple’s sales in China for this year is accurate.
