New reports now point out that the coming iPhone 16 series will all launch with Apple’s Action Button. The Action Button made its debut with the new iPhone 15 Pro devices, replacing the mute slider. This new button now brings more functions to users of the new iPhone Pro and Pro Max devices.
Instead of just giving users the ability to mute their device with a slide, the Action Button brings more functions. Its customizable feature lets users pick between about 9 controls that their device will execute with the press of a button. Now, the folks at MacRumors claim that this button will be available on all devices in the coming iPhone 16 series.
If this report is accurate, then Apple might be moving into a new way to roll out features to their devices. With the iPhone 14 Pro devices, the tech giant rolled out the Dynamic Island to replace the notch. The base iPhone 14 model and the Plus model didn’t get the Dynamic Island, unlike their Pro siblings.
The iPhone 15 series launch brought the Dynamic Island to the base model and the Plus model. However, this launch brought a feature that was once again exclusive to the Pro models. By next year, Apple fans will see this new feature that’s currently exclusive to the Pro models make its entry into the base models.
With Apple’s Action Button making its way to all devices on the iPhone 16 series, there might be the introduction of a new feature. Just like the Dynamic Island and the Action Button, this new feature, suspected to be a ‘Capture Button’ might be exclusive to the Pro models. The iPhone 16 series will launch in Q3 of 2024 and before its launch there might be more details on this coming new button.
