CD Projekt has introduced an exciting opportunity for players to dive into Cyberpunk 2077 with a free trial that will run from March 28th to March 31st. The trial version will be available to Cyberpunk 2077 enthusiasts on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Cyberpunk 2077 gained popularity not only for its ambitious scope and fascinating world but also for its controversial launch in December 2020. Despite high expectations, Cyberpunk 2077 faced widespread criticism due to numerous technical issues. However, CD Projekt Red has since been working on fixing these issues with patches and updates, aiming to bring the game up to player expectations.
As CD Projekt Red announced, the trial version offers players “the best Cyberpunk 2077 experience.” It will start on March 28 at 17:00 and end on March 31 at 08:59. This trial version provides access to the base game along with all previous updates, including the 2.0 update, which introduced significant gameplay changes. In addition, players will be able to immerse themselves in the 2.1 update, which includes a fully functional metro system, the ability to tune in to in-game radio stations anywhere via the radio port, and a fleet of new vehicles. At most, the progress made during the trial version will be smoothly carried over to the full version for those who choose to purchase the game, promising an uninterrupted journey through the futuristic dystopia of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City.
For those curious about the features, CD Projekt has provided answers to the most frequently asked questions about the trial version. Players can enjoy up to 5 hours of gameplay during the trial version, which can only be completed once per account, and progress will carry over to the full game if purchased. The free trial includes only the base game, excluding the popular Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. The full game must be downloaded, approximately 99.3 GB on PlayStation 5 and 103 GB on Xbox Series X|S.
At most, multiple users on the same console can access the trial under separate accounts. The trial is only available in regions where Cyberpunk 2077 is sold and does not require a subscription to access it, except for PlayStation 5 owners in Germany who must pay a small fee due to SIE policy.
Unfortunately, the trial version for PC users will not be available due to technical reasons. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the best open-world games out there right now, and this free trial offers players a great opportunity to experience it first-hand and decide if it’s the game for them.
