The Chinese automobile market is welcoming the all-new Deepal L07, and this isn’t just an EV, it’s more than that. Both Changan and Huawei worked together for the development of this new vehicle and by seeing the name ‘Huawei’ you already know what this vehicle packs. This new vehicle brings a truckload of Huawei technology features and equipment that make it stand out from the crowd as being special.
Changan gives potential buyers of this new EV the Huawei advanced intelligent driving system. In terms of design, this new vehicle borrows a few design cues from its slightly smaller and more sporty sibling, the SL03. Deepal currently retails this more sporty option in its markets in Asia, and now they are preparing to introduce this new entry to these markets as well.
Deepal offers this new vehicle as both a pure EV and an EREV, so users have more options to pick from. Now, if you aren’t already aware, an EREV is an electric vehicle that uses a combustion generator to charge up its batteries. Unlike regular gas-driven cars, EREVs don’t use gas power to move the drivetrain, this power solely charges the batteries that this vehicle depends on for motion.
The pure EV Deepal L07 model comes with a 185kW electric motor and the EREV model comes with a 160kW electric motor and a 72kW petrol engine. Depending on user preferences, they can pick between either model and still get to enjoy the Huawei technology at its best. We expect this new vehicle from Deepal to compete with other options from the likes of BYD, Xpeng, and NIO.
As for its pricing, there is no information about this at this point, but we expect official information in the coming weeks. However Deepal might place this new vehicle at a similar price point as the Deepal SL03. If this is the case, then we expect to see this vehicle retail under the $40,000 price point.
