Du and Huawei have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Sustainability and Green Development Program. This partnership will drive ICT advancements within the UAE to achieve Du’s Net Zero 2030 goal. To achieve this, Du will rely on Huawei to design and build Green ICT technology that is eco-friendly but also efficient.
With this partnership in place, the UAE will be able to edge closer to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). According to the available reports, this partnership will be in “three domains.” Each domain will focus on something else, but they’ll all work together to see the achievement of the goal driving this partnership.
The first domain in this Du and Huawei partnership will drive towards the design, development, and implementation of green ICT solutions. This domain will move to improve energy efficiency in certain industries and reduce network carbon for sustainability. As for the second domain, it’ll focus more on the usage of scientific and technological innovations to preserve different wildlife.
There is also a focus on the enhancement and development of digital education through various technological means. This might further help to bring Huawei’s TECH4ALL program to the UAE, hence bringing more tech talents into the industry. Du and Huawei will work together to leverage the usage of energy-efficient and low-carbon green ICT solutions to meet their targets.
All domains this partnership targets to handle are part of the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The announcement of this Du and Huawei partnership hit the internet a few days ago. In a few months, the UAE will start seeing the effects of this partnership in their region.
