The Google Discover liked stories feature took to the launch stage a few years ago. Now it’s getting some improvements, letting users easily access articles they like whenever they want to. Lots of users will come to appreciate this new feature as it steps up the experience for them, letting them locate news articles whenever they like.
At its launch, the original use of this feature was to let users give feedback to news publications via the Discover page. It also gave the Google Discover algorithm an idea of what the user likes reading or engaging with. But to save articles for later, users will need to make use of the save button and these articles will appear within their interest column.
Now users can access articles that they like as Google is arranging these articles in their folders. To access their liked articles, users will need to make a webpage that Google refers to as ‘Interests’. This is linked to the user’s Google account and holds all their saved, liked, and followed articles or publications.
For the saved articles, these are those articles users have bookmarked while on the Discover page. The ‘followed’ section holds all the publications or news channels that the user follows for their daily news update. Lastly, the liked section is all articles that users like, and they’ll all be accessible via this section.
If you look closely at the saved and liked sections, they are very similar to each other. Users can either bookmark (save) or like articles that they wish to access later. In the future, Google might merge these two columns under the Interest page together.
