Official reports point out that the Google Meet Portrait Touch-up feature is making its way to the desktop platform. This means that Google Meet desktop platform users will soon have access to this feature for everyday usage. Ever since this feature became available for usage on the video conferencing app, most users have come to love it.
After its launch last year on the Google Meet app, this feature has become the ‘best friend’ of some users. Its function is to make the face of the user more appealing during video conference meetings. So if you have some blemish on your face that you weren’t able to take care of before the meeting, this feature will help you out.
Most professionals who make use of Google Meet on their Android or iOS devices have come to find this feature quite useful. Google has also seen the popularity of this feature across various mobile platforms, hence warranting the need to bring it to the desktop platform. So if you switch from Google Meet for desktop to the mobile app just to use this feature, you no longer need to do that.
To access this feature on the desktop platform, users will need to head over to the ‘Appearance Setting’ page. This page is under the Effects settings within the app, and it houses setting options like Appearance, Filters, and Background. Under the Appearance setting on your desktop, you’ll find Portrait touch-up as the third option.
Toggling on this setting’s slider will “sharpen your features, so people can see you better.” If you were able to access this feature on your mobile device using your Google Workspace account, then you’ll be able to access it on your desktop. But if you don’t have this feature on your mobile device then you won’t have it on your desktop as it’s only for Workspace users.
