The smartphone industry is very competitive and over the past few years, Google Pixel has been making its name known. Since the launch of the Pixel 6 series, Google has gone on to stand on its own in the smartphone business. Details from Counterpoint research on the performance of various brands in the North American market for 2023 showed Google’s growth in the region. Already most netizens will know that Apple topped the chats (with 62% of shipments) considering that the North American market is their home base. Following Apple is Samsung, as the Korean tech giant controls 18% of shipments in total.
Controlling 8% of total shipments in the North American region is Motorola with its wide array of Android devices. In fourth place is Google Pixel with 3% of the total shipments for the year 2023. This record is an increase from 2021 when it controlled only 1% of the total North American smartphone shipping.
In two years, Google Pixel was able to gain control of 2% of total shipping, in addition to the 1% they already had. This means that the brand is growing in attention in the region and is showing potential for more growth. With more products and new features, Google might grow more people in the North American region.
Well, in fifth place in North American smartphone shipping are HMD and T-Mobile. Both control 2% of shipments individually, with great budget options for buyers. This year, we expect more growth from Google Pixel as they gain more popularity in the region.
