Google Sports widget is getting ready to roll out for Android users

-

With the new Google Sports widget, Android users will be able to keep up-to-date with their favourite games from their home screen. After decompiling a new Google app update on the Play Store, the folks at 9to5 Google have been able to point out a new widget. This new widget will show all sports teams that the user follows and the games they have coming, are playing, or have already played.

Since a user might be following more than one sports club or team, the games displayed on this new widget will be separated. For this separation to take place, Google will make use of individual cards for each game. Users can then tap on these cards to expand any of the games on display.

This action will redirect the user to Google, where they can get more information on the game in question. Users can also pick between a one or two-column user interface depending on their individual needs. The widget will go through regular updates to feature the most recent games and their scores, so the user can be up-to-date.

Those with access to this new widget note that there are two sections of the games available on the Google Sports widget. The two sections in question are “Your games” and “Trending games” with the former coming before the latter. The “Trending games.” section will display teams that the user doesn’t follow.

From the widget settings, users can turn on “Recommendations” and get scores on games and leagues from their recent activities. Just like every other widget, users will be able to adjust the Google Sport widget on their homepage to suit their needs and tastes. Android users will get this widget after a coming update for the Google app via the Play Store.
