The multi-purpose corvette “Hetman Ivan Mazepa” of the Ukrainian Navy has successfully completed sea trials. This was reported on the official page of the Command of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
In the video of the trials released by the Communications Department of the Command of the Ukrainian Navy, the corvette can be seen leaving the dock and heading out to sea. During the sea trials, specialists are testing the ship’s systems and how they operate under various conditions and loads. The video also showcases the armament that the corvette will be equipped with.

At that time, experts identified the 76mm naval artillery system “Super Rapid” from the Italian company OTO Melara, as well as the VL MICA naval SAM system. It is also equipped with short-range air defense systems, a modern navigation system, radar station, sonar for submarine detection, and more.

Vice Admiral Oleksiy Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, announced a year ago that the corvette would join the Ukrainian military fleet in 2024. He specified that the ship would be equipped with 76mm artillery systems, cruise missiles, a surface-to-air missile system with a range of over 20 km, and electronic warfare capabilities.
