Making its way to the HMD official website is the new HMD Pulse series. This new series from the brand has been teased ever since the start of this year, and we’re happy to see that it’s finally becoming available. On the brand’s official website, we can learn the specifications and features of this new series that comprises three devices.
HMD offers the Pulse base model, Plus model, and lastly the Pro model to this new line-up. Each of these devices comes with some pretty impressive specifications and a very clean design that we only hoped Nokia could give us. In this article, we’ll look at some of the specifications that this device brings to users that might capture your interest as a buyer searching for a new device.
The HMD Pulse series offers good-looking devices that make a fashion statement
First, we’ll have a look at what meets the eye and this is the design of the new HMD devices. A great thing that we appreciate about this new HMD series is that they all follow one design language (with a ton of fanciful colour options). This is a small thing, but it helps harmonize the entire series making a major difference in terms of their internal specification.
All devices come with a rectangular camera cutout holding two rear cameras and a flash. The rear panel brings a flat brushed finish with nothing more than the HMD logo. At this point, we can’t tell if the rear panel is glass or plastic until we lay our hands on the device for a proper review.
Being a Nokia fan and also anticipating this HMD rebranding, I can confirm that this new design is just what users need. The device features flat edges with the power and volume rocker keys on the right side. On the left is the SIM tray and under the device sits the charging port, a microphone, and speakers.
Other impressive features of this new smartphone series from HMD
Just like all devices in the HMD Pulse series share the same design, they all share the same Unisoc T606 processor. As you know, Nokia (now HMD) devices aren’t solely about performance but software and functionality. While you might consider the Unisoc processor on these devices to be slow, it pairs up with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
When it comes to their software capabilities, these devices run on Android 14 out of the box. Each of them will get OS updates for at least 2 years making them sustainable. Still on the subject of sustainability the new HMD Pulse series offers very reparable devices to users.
For repairability, HMD offers an easily swappable screen and a QuickFix replaceable battery. So, with the new HMD series, you get not only good-looking devices, but also impressive software, repairability, and all the basics you need. HMD advertises that the devices in this new series will all hit the market with affordable prices, but we’re yet to get information on this.
