The Huawei France factory is already under development, and it is the first of its kind. This is the first overseas Huawei factory, and it aims to facilitate the development of 5G equipment for the European region. The factory in question that’s currently under construction will sit in Bas-Rhin, in the northeastern Alsace region of France.

As gathered from Minggang Zhang, the Deputy General Manager of Huawei France’s speech, this factory has some big goals. He made this speech during an exclusive interview with France Inter News Radio just a few days ago. During this exclusive interview, he stated while speaking of the factory that “the ambition is indeed to produce 1 billion merchandise per year, with 500 jobs at stake in the long term.”

Now that’s a big yet impressive vision for the Huawei France factory that’s currently under development. This factory is to go into use by 2025, which is just barely a year away from the time of the interview. Huawei means business on this project, and it’ll invest €200 million into the development of its France factory.

Once ready, the factory will kick off the production of 5G equipment for usage in various industries around Europe. This in itself will drive the development of certain parastatals in the region in need of these equipments. It’ll also help save the cost of importing these 5G equipment since they are already produced in the region.

Citizens of France will also benefit from the job opportunities that this factory will open up for them. But it’s not all rosy, as the Huawei France factory under development might also face some setbacks and challenges. A major cause of these challenges will be the US sanctions on Huawei, but the coming months will reveal how this will all play out.
