Instagram is one of the most popular social networks that has a huge user base exceeding 2.5 billion worldwide. Its parent company, Meta, is constantly rolling out new features and updates, such as the recent AI-powered Backdrop feature designed to dynamically change the background of Stories. It should significantly improve the user experience and diversify the content. And now rumours hint at the imminent appearance of another addition to the Instagram toolkit.
Well-known insider and developer Alessandro Paluzzi recently revealed that the Meta-owned app is developing a very useful new feature. This upcoming addition will allow users to share someone’s profile directly in Stories.
The function will work similarly to the existing “Add to Stories” function, but its main purpose is to promote another user’s profile. It will offer Instagram users an easy way to draw the attention of their followers to other profiles, potentially increasing the profile’s visibility and follower count.
As you can see in the image in the post, the new “View Profile” button invites viewers to visit said profile. Instagram already allows you to share various content in Stories, such as other people’s posts. But with this new feature, increasing profile visibility will be much easier. So it’s much better than just tagging someone’s account.
Adding a profile post to Instagram Stories opens up new opportunities for discovery, engagement and brand promotion, which is especially beneficial for creative people and businesses. Think about it – authors can collaborate and grow their audience, and businesses can share profiles in Stories, driving leads and giving their brand a little more exposure.
It is not yet known when exactly this feature will be available to all Instagram users, but most likely it will happen in early 2024.
