Limitless has introduced a new development – a Pendant device that can be carried with you and record all conversations. The AI-based device has a unique form factor and is designed to help users remember important information, eliminating the need to rely on notes. The Pendant has an aluminium body and magnetic closure, supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for cloud and app syncing, and has a USB Type-C port for charging.
The wearable device functions as a voice recorder that records everything that is said around it. And then, with the help of artificial intelligence algorithms, it can recognize only spoken words, without surrounding sounds or background noise. He can even distinguish between different interlocutors. However, the recording function is only half of the gadget’s work.
The second part is an application that is available for macOS, Windows and in a web version. Recordings are stored in the cloud, and after the session is over, the device stores them on a server that can be accessed through the app. It processes the recording and provides four options for retrieving the text – supporting context, transcript, notes, and summary. Context is a brief description of a conversation with specific keywords, while summary is a detailed description of events. The transcript is a raw transcription of the entire conversation, and the notes are time-stamped for easy retrieval.
The device looks like a flexible clip with magnetic ends that can be worn as a pendant or attached to the edge of clothing. The Pendant is 31.9 mm wide and 16 mm thick when folded, can provide up to 100 hours of battery life and supports charging via USB Type-C.
The Limitless Pendant is equipped with multiple microphones to help it pick up sound. The device turns on a visible LED to show when it is recording. In addition, the company, within the limits of privacy requirements, has added a consent mode, in which the device records the voice only after the interlocutor has given verbal consent. It can recognize consent through contextual language, so users don’t need to interrupt the conversational flow.
For data security, the company introduced Confidential Cloud – a secure cloud server where data is encrypted and stored, but not accessible to anyone except the user.
The device will be available in eight different colours, including black, blue, green, grey, navy blue, pink, white, and yellow, starting at $99. The pre-order period is currently ongoing, and delivery will begin in Q4 this year. The device can be used without a permanent subscription, but to use the full set of AI features, users will have to shell out an additional $19 per month for a “Limitless Pro” subscription.
