The MrBeast X page is for engaging with other posts and not content sharing, as the YouTube sensation points out. This was made clear after Elon Musk reached out to MrBeast on X asking him to post his content on his X page for users to engage with. For some creators, this request from Elon Musk will mean a lot to them, but for MrBeast, this request didn’t cut it.
Well, Elon Musk didn’t directly ask the YouTube star to upload his videos on X but agreed with the idea that he does so. Here’s exactly what happened, after uploading his most recent YouTube video, MrBeast took to X to inform his fans to watch the video. One fan asked that he also upload the same video, which is 20 minutes long, on X for others to watch, which was a harmless request.
Replying to this fan’s request, Elon Musk said “Yeah” stating that he agrees with MrBeast uploading the video to X as well. MrBeast used this opportunity to inform his fans and Elon Musk of his reasons for not uploading his videos to X. In his reply to Elon Musk, he said “My videos cost millions to make and even if they got a billion views on X it wouldn’t fund a fraction of it.” This is to say that the funding from X for creators is not sufficient to bring content to the MrBeast X page.
Yes, a few months ago, X launched its funding for creators on the platform. However, the money released from this funding program is in no way comparable to that which YouTube generates for creators like MrBeast. Also, bringing his videos to X will drastically reduce his views on YouTube, hence affecting the pay he gets from the video-sharing platform.
MrBeast goes on to point out that he’s open “to test stuff once monetization is cranking!” This statement shows his openness to work with X on the condition that the pay cheque can fund his videos. Possibly, Elon Musk and his team at X will work on monetization of the platform, hence attracting creators to make use of its services.
