Official details regarding the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally hit the internet. Taking to their X page, Nintendo Co Ltd is announcing that the successor to the existing Nintendo Switch gaming console will hit the launch in about a year. According to the post, this announcement is coming from the gaming console manufacturing brand’s President, Shuntaro Furukawa.
It’s about time that Nintendo fans get an upgrade to the Switch, which originally hit the launch stage 9 years ago. Over the past few years, we’ve seen numerous leaks and information about the successor to the Nintendo Switch. We have even seen the launch of an OLED model of the Switch controller, which hit the launch stage back on October 8, 2021.
Since then, fans have been waiting for something new from Nintendo, and we are drawing closer to this new product. Some upgrades that the coming Nintendo Switch 2 will bring will include a new processor as well as a design refresh. This will make games to be played on this coming console smoother and more seamless than on the existing Switch controller.
In the post announcing a new Nintendo Switch 2 controller, the brand also gave some information. This has to do with their coming event that will take place in June, which is just a few weeks away. Nintendo clearly states that there will be no announcement of the coming gaming console at this event.
So we don’t expect to hear any official news on this product until promotions kick off towards the end of the fiscal year. By March 2025 we might start getting full details on this coming console ahead of its launch which might take place in April. However, there might be a few leaks concerning the coming Nintendo Switch 2 ahead of its official launch.
