Just like with Chinese automobile manufacturers, Geely, Nio and JAC might also go into a battery swap partnership. News of this possible partnership hit the internet a few days ago and it follows that of Geely. JAC might be part of the companies that Nio is planning to work with on bringing battery swap technology to their vehicles.
Already, Nio is in a similar partnership with other Chinese automobile firms like Changan and Geely. They recently entered a battery swap partnership with the EV manufacturer to bring a faster way to get a fully charged battery to their users. For Changan, its partnership will focus on the Chinese EV market while Geely might bring this technology to other markets.
Now there are reports on the internet that Nio and JAC might also go into a similar partnership shortly. For those who aren’t already aware, this partnership won’t be the first for Nio and JAC. Both Chinese automobile manufacturers have worked together in the past on the development of some vehicles.
Both firms operate two manufacturing factories together in the Hefei, Anhui province. Having worked together in the past, stepping into a new battery swap partnership won’t be an issue. This will help JAC Motor users to get up and going by just swapping their batteries instead of charging them for long hours.
JAC might also switch to using the NT 3.0 platform on their EVs to make this partnership pull through. Sources also point out that there might be some agreement on battery standards. Shortly, more details on this possible partnership will become available.
