To grow the next generation of battery-swapping plants, Nio and Longi have now gone into a strategic partnership. This partnership will employ the user of Longi’s products to help develop greener Nio EV battery swapping plants. The aim is to help these plants save more power each year and also to establish the global standard for carbon-neutral mobility for the EV sector.
If you aren’t already aware, Nio is a Chinese EV brand that is intensifying its efforts to go global. They are also known for their battery-swapping technology, which is currently being adopted by various automobile manufacturers. This battery-swapping technology is a great alternative to charging an EV, and it takes less time, hence helping users to be on their way faster.
Longi on its part is a Chinese solar panel manufacturer and the choice for many large firms. Already, the firm’s headquarters is considered to be the largest in the world by market capitalization. Lots of EV brands, including Tesla, have chosen Longi as the supplier of solar panels for use in charging stations and factories around the world.
By working together, Nio and Longi look forward to growing battery swapping worldwide. It’ll also help to grow the usage of photovoltaic power (solar power) in the EV industry. Nio plans to use Longi’s photovoltaic system on its 60 square meter battery swapping stations.
These stations are currently under development and will be ready in some regions towards the first half of 2024. According to the reports, the installation of Longi’s solar panels will kick off in April 2024. Once the first set of battery-swapping stations is ready, Nio will move to expand the effect of this partnership to other regions.
