Onvo, the NIO sub-brand, made an entry into the Chinese EV space sometime last week. To mark this entry, the brand launched the L60 model, which is the first EV model from the new brand. While still digesting what we got from this launch event, the brand announces that they are working to launch another vehicle and this will be a 7-seater electric SUV.
If you aren’t aware, Onvo is the new brand from NIO that will focus on the launch of more user-base-specific entries. The vehicles from this new brand will be more family-centric, so we expect to see larger vehicles from them. This coming 7-seater vehicle is just one of the many family-size vehicles that Onvo will launch as it grows in popularity.
The large 7-seater SUV might launch with some features that the new Onvo L60 comes with. Some of these features include the Nvidia Orin X driving chip, NIO battery swap technology, and up to a 120kWh battery pack. As for the L60 model, it is built to specifically compete with the Tesla Model Y while being much more affordable than the competition.
According to the reports, the NIO Onvo brand will focus a lot of its attention on the European market. For this reason, we can conclude that a major competition for this coming 7-seater electric SUV will be the Kia EV9. This coming 7-seater EV from Onvo might make an appearance later this year after the brand makes its official launch in Europe.
