Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation and US software developer Palantir Technologies Inc have announced a partnership that will enable the company’s technology to be used to support the country’s defence and recovery from a full-scale Russian invasion.
Palantir is a leading software company and provider of cloud-based solutions. The memorandum of partnership will pave the way for cooperation in critical areas such as cataloguing and assessing damage to buildings and infrastructure, and using software to optimise reconstruction.
As a strategic partner of Ukraine, Palantir will expand its support in a number of areas to achieve the following common goals:
- strengthening digital capabilities in the field of electronic public services that help in the defence and reconstruction of Ukraine
- support and coordination of Ukraine’s digital recovery
- consolidation of efforts in the field of digitalisation, innovation and integration of Ukraine into the international market
- exchange of data and experience in the implementation of the world’s leading technologies with the support of the Armed Forces.
“We are honoured to continue developing our partnership with such a top company. Palantir is already contributing to Ukraine’s victory by providing its tools and analytics. We are looking forward to starting a new phase of cooperation as part of Ukraine’s recovery,” said Mykhailo Fedorov, Vice Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine. – “Our presence on the ground during the full-scale invasion is also of great importance for the economy and building a new image of Ukraine abroad.
According to Heorhii Dubinskyi, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, they were able to create a successful entry point for Palantir through the Ministry of Digital Transformation and establish its cooperation with many government agencies. Palantir is a near-universal intelligence tool, and the Ministry’s experts have seen a high level of interest in its implementation. “Having developed a strong recovery plan, we will explore the possibility of introducing Palantir as one of the main digital reconstruction tools for analysing data related to infrastructure and urban planning,” said Georgiy Dubinsky.
The company’s CEO Alex Karp was the first Western CEO to visit President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ukraine after the war began, and the company has been actively assisting the Ukrainian government since then. The developer’s support for Ukraine includes providing software to the Ukrainian security forces and helping to resettle Ukrainian refugees who had to flee the war abroad.
“Whether helping Ukraine’s brave troops stand up to Putin’s aggression, supporting the resettlement of their loved ones or contributing to the civilian reconstruction of the country, Palantir stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine and its people,” said Louis Mosley, Senior Vice President, Europe, Palantir. – “This agreement will help to ensure a prosperous post-victory future.
