Real-money gaming apps are making their way to the Google Play Store

-

Currently, the Google Play Store only permits the existence of a few real-money gaming apps (RMG apps). These are those apps that let users play games involving the staking of their money with the intention or hopes of winning more money from the games. Some of these apps are from establishments that offer betting or gambling services to users around the world.

Back in 2021, Google started allowing some of these services to exist on the Play Store. Well, as we step deeper into 2024, we might begin to see the influx of more of these kinds of apps onto the Play Store. As new reports claim, the influx of these new apps to the Play Store will not follow the path that already existing real-money gaming apps took.

Back in 2021, there were governmental regulations in place that guided the existence of real-money gaming apps. But now these apps no longer need to meet these governmental regulations that aim to protect users of these services. Now these coming apps only need guidelines in their locality as well as Google’s policies for these apps.

This means that smaller real-money gaming apps that don’t have the means to follow these governmental regulations will finally be able to exist on the Play Store. Meaning that more developers will get the opportunity to bring their betting or gambling apps to Android users. However, these apps will not just be allowed on the Play Store without measures to ensure that they are safe for usage.

These coming apps will follow Google’s safety regulations for all apps available on the Play Store. Countries like India, Mexico, and Brazil will get these new real-money gaming apps in a few months. Other regions will also get access to more of these apps much later in the future.
