Realme 12 Pro will use a mid-range processor and the Sony IMX882 camera sensor

One device that the smartphone community is looking out for is the coming Realme 12 Pro series. The devices in this series promise some impressive features and specifications that will make them great budget flagship entries. For the Realme 12 Pro, this device has been confirmed to launch with not only a Snapdragon processor but also a Sony lens for taking impressive photography shots.

For photography, we have confirmed the camera sensor that’s going to be in use in the Pro 12+ device. This sensor is the Sony IMX890, and it’s also in use in other budget flagship entries. But the nonplus variant in the Realme 120 Pro series will use a different Sony sensor for its main rear camera.

Realme 12 Pro series

The sensor that’ll be in use on the Realme 12 Pro is the Sony IMX882, and it might be the first smartphone to make use of this sensor. We expect that this sensor will be a 50MP lens, and Realme brags that it’ll bring some photography improvements to the coming device. In a post on X Realme shares the teaser image of these devices showing off the Sony sensor that they’ll both use.

The image comes with the heading that reads “Pro Series meets Pro Sony” depicting some advanced photography features. From the teaser image, we also see the design of both devices in the coming Realme 12 Pro series. The nonplus version will come with a gold colour option, three rear cameras and what seems to be 20X zoom capabilities.

As for its processor, the nonplus model will rely on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 5G chip. The Pro+ model will bring the Rolex partnership, three rear cameras, and up to 120X zoom capabilities. These devices will launch next week on January 29 then we’ll get to learn more about these devices.
