Some netizens around the world are quite impressed by the Realme GT5 Pro hand gesture technology. With this technology, users have a new security option embedded into their smartphones for everyday usage. By just pulling the palm away from the Realme GT5 Pro’s camera, a user can swiftly unlock the smartphone with ease.

Hand gestures have been in use on various Android smartphones over the past few years. With the use of various sensors on the device, users can interact with their smartphone without having to touch its screen. Realme is now following in the footsteps of LG by taking the use of these gesture sensors to the next level.

Although LG is no longer in the smartphone business, it’s good to give them their accolades when due. Back in the year 2019, LG launched the G8 ThinQ smartphone, and it came with a feature that let users unlock their smartphone with their palm. However, the technology on the LG G8 ThinQ is far behind that of the Realme GT5 Pro.

With this new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered smartphone from Realme users can take advantage of the palm sensing technology on board. All the user needs to do is place their palm above the smartphone’s selfie camera and it’ll unlock. This is a new security system on the device, and the good news is that it doesn’t do away with the under-display fingerprint sensor.

Realme uses the 32MP selfie camera and an additional sensor on the GT5 Pro to detect the users’ palm print. For this to work, the user will need to register his palm print on the device just like they would their fingerprint. So, in situations where the user can’t reach out to unlock their smartphone with the fingerprint sensor, they can simply place their palm over the smartphone.

Aside from unlocking the GT5 Pro, the selfie camera and sensor also help users perform a ton of hand gesture controls. So a user of the Realme GT5 Pro doesn’t need to touch their smartphone before they unlock it and even use it. This device just launched in the Chinese market and is preparing to make its way to the global community in the coming weeks.
