The start of a new year is often a time for updates, and Root-Nation.com is no exception. The website has undergone changes to enhance user experience further. This update focuses on the desktop version, which accounts for 40% of our visitors. Additionally, we’ve introduced a dark mode for the desktop interface to provide more viewing options.
On certain devices, such as laptops, Dark Mode activates automatically based on your system settings. However, users also have the flexibility to manually switch between dark and light themes at any time, ensuring a personalized browsing experience.
Demo switch:
Color restyling
The main update to the site is a shift in the color scheme, transitioning from a striking red to a more subdued brick tone. This change is reflected in the updated logo, which has been designed to work seamlessly on both light and dark backgrounds, enhancing its versatility.
This adjustment gives the site a softer and more rustic appearance, creating a visually balanced and inviting design.
Facelift: updating the main page
The homepage has also been updated with a redesigned top section featuring the most popular reviews. Additionally, a new block showcasing videos from our official YouTube channel has been introduced. This makes it even easier to access the latest reviews, unboxings, or event coverage. Key content blocks have also undergone a subtle redesign to improve readability and presentation.
Dark Mode
For those who enjoy evening or late-night reading—whether it’s in-depth gadget reviews, learning about weaponry from different countries, exploring gaming topics, or simply catching up on the news—Root-Nation now offers a more comfortable experience. With the introduction of Dark Mode, browsing the site has become even easier on the eyes during nighttime use.
Demo switch:
Dark Mode reduces eye strain when viewing content in low-light conditions by lowering contrast. It also helps decrease screen brightness and save battery life, so you won’t need to rush to a charger as quickly.
You can activate Dark Mode either by using the toggle on the horizontal panel near the language selection icon (currently available only for registered users) or through a separate floating button in the lower-left corner of the screen.
