The coming Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone is to use the Samsung 1-inch 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor. News on this coming camera sensor has started hitting the internet, even though the device to use it is still years away. However, Samsung might move to announce this coming sensor sometime next year.
Already, Samsung has a 200MP sensor ready for its smartphones, and this is in use on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. This sensor will also be in use on the coming S24 Ultra that is set to launch in a few weeks. Despite being a 200MP sensor, this entry on Samsung’s top-of-the-line flagship devices isn’t a 1-inch sensor.
The only manufacturer of smartphone camera sensors that has a 1-inch sensor in use is Sony. This massive sensor is available on some smartphones that are available for purchase in various regions. Now, Samsung is moving in to join Sony and launch their 1-inch sensor, which will be available in a few years.
According to available reports, this will be an ISOCELL camera sensor with Horizontal and Vertical Dual Pixel Autofocus (H/V DPAF). Its optical size format will be 1/0.98 inches and it’ll bring 0.8μm pixels. While these details are leaks and not official statements from Samsung, they give netizens an insight into what to expect from the Samsung 1-inch 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor.
While this coming sensor is still in its development stage, there are rumours about the devices that’ll put it to use. One of these devices is the coming Galaxy S25 Ultra, some foldable might also get this sensor as well. Well, this coming camera sensor is still in its development and clearer details on it will become available in the coming months.
