Samsung Exynos 2600 will use a 2nm node that is currently in development

A chip with the codename Thetis is currently in the works, and we expect this to be the Samsung Exynos 2600. This processor’s mass production might kick off in the second half of 2025 and will power the Galaxy S26 devices. A more interesting aspect of this processor is the fact that it’ll launch using the 2nm node that Samsung is already developing.

Before the end of this year, we expect to see the launch of the Exynos 2500 processor. This processor will come with Samsung’s 3nm node and might spot some performance upgrades in comparison with the coming Snapdragon flagship processor, the 8 Gen 4 entry. Reports have it that Qualcomm might not switch to the 3nm node for the coming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, hence giving the Exynos 2500 an edge over them in certain areas.

However, there’s no official confirmation that Qualcomm will stay away from the 3nm node on their coming processor. After the launch with the 3nm node, netizens will then look forward to a smaller fabrication processor for use on the new Samsung chip. The 2nm node which is currently in its development stage might make an entry next year and be used on the Samsung Exynos 2600 processor.

Just like Samsung, TSMC is also working on their 2nm node, which will be in use on various devices. The likes of Apple will take a bite at what TSMC has to offer once their 2nm node fabrication processor launches. Samsung, on its part, might reserve their 2nm node for use on the Exynos 2600 and Qualcomm might also place some orders with Samsung foundry for this node.

Both Samsung and Apple will race to introduce the 2nm node on their coming devices. However, it might be safe to say that Samsung will beat the Apple iPhone 17 to launch devices with the 2nm node that they’ll source from TSMC. This is because Samsung’s flagship series that might use the Exynos 2600 processor might launch in Q1 2026.
