A few months ago, Sony and OPPO went into a strategic partnership that’s now bringing some advancements. Before the announcement of this partnership, Sony announced its new LYT-900 sensor for usage on smartphones. This new sensor will make its official debut on the coming OPPO Find X7 Pro that will launch in the coming months.
Details on this sensor to be in use on the coming OPPO flagship device are from Sony Lytia’s Weibo page. From the teaser image the brand shared via its Weibo page, netizens learn that this sensor is a 1-inch entry. It’s also a 50MP stacked CMOS sensor with 1.6μ pixels and brings its benefits in comparison with other sensors currently available.
Thanks to the stacked CMOS design, this sensor will let in more light by separating the transistors and photodiode layers. As you might already know, the ability of a camera sensor to let in more light will help improve photography. So, the OPPO Find X7 Pro will launch with some photography improvements in comparison with its predecessors.
But some netizens might wonder whether this new Sony and OPPO partnership will phase out that of OPPO and Hasselblad. Well, if you are part of those having this thought, then you might need to discard it. OPPO’s partnership with Hasselblad will still be in place with the Find X7 Pro that’ll launch in the coming weeks.
This flagship device will bring the next-gen Hasselblad HyperTone camera system, colour calibration and zoom improvements. Other impressive features of this coming device are its processor, which will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and it’ll bring satellite connectivity. After the OPPO Find X7 Pro, the likes of Xiaomi, and Vivo will also put the Sony LYT-900 to use on their coming devices.
