Not much time has passed since the release of the OPPO Reno11 series, and the global version debuted less than a month ago. But that doesn’t stop insiders from sharing details about OPPO’s next mid-range smartphones – Reno12 and Reno12 Pro. After the company presented the first flagship of this year, the Find X7 Ultra, according to the leak, it will be ready to introduce two new devices for the mid-range price segment within six months.
On paper, the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro look quite powerful for their segment, so the most important question will be the pricing policy. If OPPO can price these mid-range smartphones well, they could become a very attractive option in many markets.
However, specifications leaked online indicate that the performance difference between the two models won’t be that big. For starters, both devices will sport 6.7-inch OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and a triple camera setup.
The Oppo Reno12 Pro will probably have better sensors, but the resolution is said to be the same. The smartphones will be equipped with a 50 MP main camera with OIS, as well as an 8 MP lens and a 50 MP camera with 2x optical zoom. Both phones will have a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, although the Reno12 Pro will also have autofocus. It’s also worth noting that both the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro will be powered by 5,000mAh batteries that will support 67W fast charging. They will be IP65 water-resistant and will most likely run on Android 14.
The main difference between them will be the chipset. The base model of the Reno12, according to the leak, will be powered by a MediaTek processor codenamed “MTK 24M”, while the Reno12 Pro will reportedly be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 processor.
Both phones will have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but the Reno12 Pro will also have a 512GB version. The report claims that both phones will be announced in June 2024.
