Ukraine Develops a “Swarm of Drones” Capable of Attacking Without Human Intervention

In Ukraine, a swarm of drones consisting of up to seven units, equipped with artificial intelligence, is being actively developed. These drones can operate autonomously and interact with each other to perform attacks and conduct surveillance on the enemy. One of the developers, Serhiy Krupienko, remarked that this event is comparable to the historical launch of the steam engine in factories many years ago.

“Our main goal is to replace people with robots in combat,” emphasized Krupienko. “The drone swarm can communicate with each other and decide who will attack and who will gather information. This will happen faster than a human could manage.”

He is confident that the combination of drones and artificial intelligence will shape the future of warfare, just as tanks, radio communication, and aircraft did in their time. According to Krupienko, Ukraine is now becoming a “testing ground for new types of weapons,” which are being tested directly in combat conditions against a formidable enemy.

This project became a reality thanks to foreign investments. Krupienko received funding from an American fund, supported by Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google. Additionally, a partnership agreement was signed with a British drone manufacturer.

Besides Krupienko’s design bureau, several other laboratories in Ukraine are also working on the AI-powered drone swarm. While drones are already considered weapons of yesterday, combat artificial intelligence has the potential to become a true breakthrough.
