Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky called the awards an undeniable merit of the team and an example of resilience for the entire postal world, as Ukrposhta continued to operate despite the widespread war, difficult and dangerous working conditions, shelling, blackouts, destroyed and damaged offices or shot cars. “Every day, the heroic employees of Ukrposhta risk their lives going to the frontline areas to ensure that our people there feel supported and have everything they need. I am proud of each of them,” he added.

Qatar Post and Correios – Brazil Post were also shortlisted in the Postal Operator nomination, in which Ukrposhta won. The postal operator has shown the world that it can operate in a full-scale war – Ukrposhta fulfilled state social tasks of relocating businesses, supported Ukrainian entrepreneurs and developed exports, delivered pensions and provided logistics inside and outside the country, issued financial assistance from international organisations and delivered humanitarian aid from abroad.

The operator also won the Philatelic Campaign of the Year category. The example of Ukrposhta proved that this industry can be extremely popular, as people not only in Ukraine but also abroad became interested in our philately. The world media wrote about Ukrainian stamps. The iconic stamp “Russian warship… DONE” is on display at the Smithsonian Postal Museum in Washington, D.C., and the circulation of the postal issue “Russian warship… DONE!” was 5 million copies. Some military stamps have a charitable component aimed at helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine, animal shelters and rebuilding educational institutions.

In addition, Ukrposhta CEO Igor Smelyansky received an award in the special nomination “Industry Leader”. This award honours professionals for their success, significant contributions, innovations and development in promoting the postal and express delivery industry.

Ukrposhta has already received honours from this award. In 2019, it won the Postal Technologies for e-commerce and Socially Responsible Programmes categories.
