Beta testers are now noticing a new WhatsApp favourite contact feature that aims to improve call functionality. This new feature will also make it possible for WhatsApp users to access these contacts when trying to make calls or text. Any users added to this favourite list will appear at the top of the call interface on WhatsApp, so users can access them quickly.
With this new feature that’s already in beta testing, WhatsApp users will be able to pick contacts to add to their favourite list. WhatsApp seems to be turning its attention over to user preferences with this coming feature, as well as others that are available for use or are in testing. From the description of this feature, WhatsApp clearly states that this feature will help to make “a phone call……..just one tap away.”
For some reason, this feature that’s currently in beta testing is only available for use in the app’s call section. From this section of the app, users can search for and add various contacts to their favourite list. After adding these contacts, they are all displayed at the top of the call log before the recent call section.
With this feature, users will no longer need to spend more time looking through their call logs or contacts to find their favourite contacts. Once this feature is available for usage there might be no restrictions to its usage and the contacts one can add to the favourite list. WhatsApp’s users will be able to pick from family members, friends, workmates, and so many more contacts to add to this list.
At this moment, the WhatsApp favourite contact feature is under testing and will soon be available for usage. Once available users will get this feature via an app update which will help brush up the WhatsApp call experience. This feature will be available to both Android and iOS users once it rolls out for usage globally.
